Picture this: it’s a super hot summer day and you’re looking for a way to cool down.  Maybe you just ate dinner and your sweet tooth is kicking in. Mitchell’s Homemade Ice Cream is the perfect way to satisfy your craving.

When I think of summertime, one of the first things that come to mind are all of the “sweet” ways to cool down.  Trying out new ice cream places is one of my favorite things to do over summer with my friends.  One of the best parts of walking into Mitchell’s was immediately smelling the warm, delightful fragrance of waffle cones being made throughout the store.  Instantly, my mouth starts watering from the smell and I haven’t even looked at any of the treats yet. This is already a good sign.

As we approached the counter, we saw so many different ice creams that were unique and looked so amazing.  If I had to make a guess, I would say we stood there for at least eight minutes before either of us could make an actual decision. There were just so many different options to choose from.  You could get anything from a milkshake, to an ice cream sundae, a waffle cone, yogurts and so much more.

One of my biggest problems in life is deciding what I want. So naturally, I’m standing there torn between getting an ice cream cone and a root beer float. Taylor suggested that I try the root beer float because that’s her favorite item on the menu item and she wanted to steal some of mine.

To make sure I got my dessert all to myself, I chose a single scoop cone with Campfire S’mores ice cream. Let me tell you, it was awesome. As a major marshmallow lover, it was everything I could hope for in an ice cream.

Taylor got the Key Lime Pie ice cream cone and thought it was delicious. Her favorite part was the graham cracker pie crumbles in the ice cream. She also really appreciated the graham cracker pieces because they were made with ingredients from local farms and fields.

One of the best things about Mitchell’s is that they get most of their ingredients from local sources, to keep business thriving in the surrounding areas. On their menu, several items have a 100 in a circle icon next to the title of the item.  This shows customers that this product was made with ingredients that came from a local farm or partner within a 100 mile radius.

Our experience at Mitchell’s definitely did not disappoint. I can’t wait for my next trip to the store.  For more information about Mitchell’s, visit them on LC Explorer here!
